CCOA About Us (in just 50 seconds)

Since 1995, non-profit Credit Counseling of Arkansas (CCOA), Inc. has helped thousands of families with personal finance issues by making a positive difference through helping people master their personal finances through free budget, credit & housing counseling, free seminars, credit report reviews and a Debt Management Program that can reduce interest rates, stop late fees, and stop collection calls. Less debt, more life!

Many who struggle with debt didn’t get there because of carefree spending. They have debt stemming from a crisis, such as: job loss, reduced work hours, divorce or medical bills. CCOA can help!

Caring, confidential credit counseling is available in-office (Fayetteville, Bentonville, Fort Smith), by telephone, and online in English and Spanish.

CCOA offers free financial education seminars to the community (fee charged for for-profit businesses) as well as free budget and credit counseling. CCOA also offers bankruptcy counseling and education, housing counseling, mortgage delinquency counseling, reverse mortgage counseling, student loan counseling and credit report reviews.

All credit counseling organizations are not the same. Some are trustworthy, while others are not. CCOA has a proven, 20-year track record of serving others, is a Better Business Bureau (BBB) member with an A+ rating (the highest), a member of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) and accredited by The Council on Accreditation (COA). CCOA is also a United Way funded agency. The Northwest Arkansas Business Journal and The Arkansas Business Journal both chose CCOA as a finalist for Non-Profit Organization of the Year. The Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce gave CCOA the Pillar Award for Outstanding Community Service. The Benton County Daily Record said this about CCOA, “Some credit counseling outfits are less than reputable. CCOA, however, is an upstanding organization.”

CCOA’s financial experts have been featured numerous times in the media, including: ABC 40/29, CBS KFSM 5, NBC KNWA 24/51, Fox 24, The Morning News of Northwest Arkansas, The Northwest Arkansas Times, The Benton County Daily Record and The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, as well as CitiScapes and Celebrate Arkansas magazines.

CCOA has clients throughout the country. With one phone call or click, you will be on your way to increasing your financial knowledge and financial fitness.
