What Is Credit Counseling?

People don’t often really know exactly what to expect with credit counseling and they may have some anxiety at the thought of doing it. But what is credit counseling?

At CCOA, a credit counseling session includes a caring financial professional with an average of over 20 years helping people financially navigate life events, such as dealing with debt from medical bills, college, a divorce or death of a spouse. Not everyone is dealing with debt — some just want a budget and solid advice from a professional and an Action Plan. The one-hour session is free and confidential and can be done in person (Bentonville, Fayetteville and Fort Smith) as well as by phone or online.
